Dr Christopher Chen is founder and director of the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Gleaneagles Hospital. With training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) and a keen interest in fertility research, Dr Christopher Chen has attained many of the world's first in fertility treatment and is highly regarded as the pioneer of IVF.

Dr Chen attended medical school at the National University of Singapore (NUS) where he completed his training as a medical doctor. He then proceeded to UK and obtained the O&G specialist degree from Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists, London and later from the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist, Melbourne.

Dr Chen is medical specialist with vast experience and greatexperience in the comprehensive arrya of infertility treatments, inculding assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF. He has worked in NUS, Flinders University and Flinders Medical Centre in Australia as a teaching professor and a researcher. He has also established and once headed the Department of Reproductive Medicine at Kandang Kerbau Hospital (KKH) in Singapore.

In 1993, Dr Chen established his own fertility centre - the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Gleaneagles Hospital, offering advanced fertility services to all patient in a caring and personalised manner. Together with his team of scientists, nurses and professional staff, Dr Chen will continue to offer outstanding services that promise hihg services rates in fertility treatment.



   
Successfully achieved sperm cryopreservation and established Singapore's and Asia's first sperm bank.
 
Delivered the World's first IVF triplets.
Dr Chen is also the first person to have been able to freeze the human egg, resulting subsequently in the delivery of twins from the frozen eggs.
 
Delivered Asia's first IVF sextuplets in Singapore.
